glchess software package provides chess game with 3D graphics for GNOME (transitional package), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install glchess
glchess is installed in your system.
Make ensure the glchess package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep glchess *
You will get with glchess package name, version, architecture and description in a table
